Sawula Wannama | සැවුලා වන්නම

 

 

උඩරට නැටුම් කලාවේ එන වන්නම් 18න් එකකි සැවුලා වන්නම.සැවුලා යනු කුකුළාය. මෙම වන්නමෙන් කියවෙන්නේ කතරගම දෙවියන්ගේ සුර අසුර යුද්ධය සහ එම දෙවියන්ගේ ධජයේ (කොඩියේ) සිටින සැවුලා (කුකුළා) ගැනය. කුකුළාගේ ගමන් විලාශය අනුව නාදමාලාව සැකසී ඇති අතර සුඵ මහ දෙතිතට මෙය ගායනා කිරීමත් නර්ථනයේ යෙදීමත් සිදුකරයි. 

 

 Savula is one of the 18 Kandyan dances. Savula is the rooster. This verse refers to the Asura war of the god Kataragama and the rooster on the flag of that god. The chord is set according to the rooster's style of singing, and is sung and danced to by Suha Maha Detitha.
